I have always been victim to the tabloids and celebrity bloggers, but after seeing the coverage of the potential vice-president, Sarah Palin, I think twice about what I choose to read. I was reading http://www.perezhilton.com/ (who is my favorite blogger) and I was reading the posts he put up on the VP candidate. There were rumors going on about her newborn baby actually being her 17 year old daughter's child instead, how she hated animals, and other nasty comments. Even if these were to be true, which they have proven not to be, I thought it a bit unfair and childish to bring someone's personal life out in the open, especially when it is false information. One positive thing that has come out of this, is that it shows Palin's integrity and perserverance, because she has managed to disregard the rumors and allegations and continue successfully on her campaign. It is such a shame though that America has become so fascinated with tabloids that now it has trickled over to one of the most important decisions it has to make: voting for a new president. I just hope that Americans can bypass the blogs and the newspapers and seek out the information they feel is best to help them know the candidates they are voting for.

I totally agree with what you are saying. It really makes the attacker look worse than the attackee (if that's a word =)). It makes people start to wonder. Don't they have better things to bring up? War issues? Political issues? The ECONOMY?! Hello!? Why waste valuable time by delving into someone's personal life. That just shows how desperate they are... to have to grab at any wiff of rumor they can reach.
how did you find that website, perezhilton.com? just curious!
I completely agree with you! The tabloids do everything they can to sell copies or get people to read, even when its putting others down, and lies! I also wish they could just talk about facts and people were more concerned about becoming educated and not just entertainment when reading those blogs and magazines.
